Freedlander's: A look at the last day
Adam Burroughs, a reporter for The Daily Record, wrote in Sunday's edition what an emotional day it was for Freedlander's workers (read the story here) and about how hundreds gathered for the final sale (story here).
The above video is just a small representation of the video I shot from the final day, from the preview before the final auction until the moment Mary Alice Streeter locked the doors for the final time at the end of the day.
Local businessman Spiro Matsos, a friend of the Freedlander family and a friend of Wooster, wanted to make the final purchase in Freedlander's 125-year-history. He bought some clothes for him and his two sons, Chris and Lee. Bill Rich attended to the sale.
I have much more video about some of the items for sale, the auction, people (workers, former workers, customers and others) reminiscing about their favorite Freedlander's memories and about the family. I am just not sure when all of it will be edited what the final thing will look like.
